Assistant Field Collection Manager / Collection Manager

Overview

We are looking for a motivated and skilled Collection Manager or Assistant Manager to join our finance team, specializing in business loan collections. The candidate must bring solid field experience handling difficult collections including non-performing assets (NPA) and write-off loans with overdue days exceeding 180. Local applicants with the ability to manage large loan accounts valued between 7 to 10 lakhs are preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Visit borrower locations to pursue recovery of overdue business loan payments, predominantly targeting those with delays of more than 90 days.
• Oversee a book of accounts and implement strategic collection approaches to maximize recoveries while complying with regulatory frameworks.
• Foster and maintain constructive relationships with borrowers to encourage on-time repayment and resolve disputes amicably.
• Prepare and deliver daily reports on collection activities and accurately update systems with each field visit's findings.
• Communicate effectively with the Collections Manager to provide timely updates on collection status and challenges.
• Adhere to company policies and financial industry regulations throughout the collections process.
• Apply negotiation and persuasion techniques confidently to gain commitment for repayment from delinquent accounts.

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum 6 years of experience in business loan collections with substantial exposure to hard collections including NPA and write-off cases involving overdue payments between 90 to 180+ days.
• Proven experience managing loan accounts worth a minimum of 7 to 10 lakhs.
• Must be a local resident to facilitate regular field visits.
• Proficiency in English, Hindi, or a relevant regional language is essential.
• Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills to handle borrower interactions and internal collaborations effectively.
• Strong problem-solving aptitude coupled with negotiation skills to effectively convert past-due accounts into recovering ones.
• Capability to work autonomously and consistently achieve or surpass collection goals.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license and access to personal transportation for conducting field visits is mandatory.
