Key Responsibilities

• Lead recruitment, training, supervision, and mentorship of the engineering team, fostering performance evaluations and recognising accomplishments to cultivate a high-performing workforce.
• Assist the Chief Engineer in managing daily maintenance operations by prioritising tasks, overseeing service requests, and ensuring timely completion using the property maintenance management system.
• Maintain safety and compliance by supervising the upkeep of the building, mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and life safety systems, coordinating necessary inspections, and complying with national and local safety regulations.
• Support driving engineering department performance by monitoring Key Performance Indicators such as equipment condition, audit results, and team productivity, and implementing improvements as necessary.
• Collaborate with hotel leadership to oversee safety protocols including evacuation procedures and duty manager coverage.
• Supervise contractor work and verify quality and adherence to standards upon completion.
• Lead initiatives focused on energy efficiency and conservation to reduce utility costs across the property.
