Job Overview
As a Security Officer at Hilton in Amman, Jordan, you will ensure the safety and security of guests, employees, and hotel property by monitoring entrances, conducting regular patrols, and managing any undesirable conduct.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and control staff access points to the hotel premises.
- Perform regular inspections of bags and other items carried by staff members, reporting any violations immediately.
- Supervise the goods pass-out process for items purchased, loaned, or otherwise obtained lawfully.
- Maintain a log of contractors working within the hotel, complying with company health and safety policies.
- Conduct checks of goods received during off-hours.
- Keep records for the issuance and return of departmental keys.
- Manage and monitor the CCTV security system.
- Carry out routine hotel patrols, including fire safety walks, and document findings.
- Ensure secure handling of cash transfers within hotel premises.
- Assist in evacuation procedures during fire alarm emergencies.
- Identify and monitor suspicious packages, complying with bomb and terror threat protocols.
- Provide secure storage solutions for oversized guest items.
- Ensure that hotel facilities and function rooms are secured and locked when unoccupied.
- Maintain detailed Security Log Books and Incident Report records.
- Investigate and report allegations of theft, damage, or any other incidents.
- Address and manage inappropriate behavior professionally, intervening to prevent conflict.
- Collaborate with law enforcement officials in the absence of the Security Team Leader.
- Report any hazards or maintenance issues promptly to the supervising staff on duty.
Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Physical fitness suitable for security duties.
- At least two years of experience in law enforcement, security, or military training.
- Strong knowledge of fire safety, disaster plans, bomb threat response, and hotel evacuation procedures.
- Familiarity with local laws and government regulations.
- Commitment to confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive information.
- SIA certification/licensing (Security Industry Authority) is required.
- Positive and professional attitude with excellent communication abilities.
- Maintain proper grooming standards at all times.
- Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure, including emergencies.
- Capable of working independently or collaboratively with teammates.
- Preferred: Previous experience in a customer service environment, first aid certification, knowledge of P.A.C.E. protocols, and basic IT skills.
Additional Requirements
Adherence to all health and safety regulations is mandatory throughout all security operations.
