Job description

About Us

We are a global organization dedicated to enhancing the reliability, availability, safety, performance, and lifecycle value of industrial assets. Our approach includes reliability engineering, predictive maintenance, asset management, data-driven decision-making, and continuous improvement. Our cross-functional teams collaborate globally across departments such as Engineering, Maintenance, Operations, Quality, Procurement, Finance, Automation, IT, and external partners to optimize asset performance and reduce operational risks.

Role Overview

The Asset Reliability Manager will spearhead strategies around asset reliability, including reliability engineering, asset performance management, maintenance optimization, failure and criticality analysis, lifecycle management, and reliability data analytics. The role aims to foster a proactive reliability culture ensuring critical assets meet or exceed targets for availability, safety, maintainability, performance, and cost efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and execute a comprehensive asset reliability strategy aligned with operational goals and business priorities.
  • Set governance, standards, methodologies, and performance criteria for reliability.
  • Create roadmaps for short-, medium-, and long-term reliability improvements.
  • Identify asset risks and prioritize initiatives based on their business impact.
  • Integrate reliability engineering seamlessly with maintenance, operations, engineering, and capital planning.
  • Implement asset performance management practices, monitoring health, reliability, utilization, and lifecycle condition of critical equipment.
  • Develop performance dashboards and system reports to track degradation and initiate improvements.
  • Develop asset criticality assessment methods considering safety, production, quality, environmental, financial impacts, failure probability, recovery time, and spare parts availability.
  • Lead Reliability-Centered Maintenance efforts optimizing maintenance tasks based on actual failure behaviors and asset criticality.
  • Perform Failure Mode and Effects Analyses on critical assets to identify failure mechanisms and prescribe preventive or redesign actions.
  • Lead root cause investigations on significant or recurring failures using methods such as 5 Why, Fishbone, Fault Tree, FMEA, Pareto, and Event Analyses ensuring systemic corrective actions.

Performance Indicators

  • Monitor metrics including asset and equipment availability, MTBF, MTTR, unplanned downtime, failure frequencies, repeat failure rates, and maintenance effectiveness.
  • Track condition monitoring coverage, early-failure detection, failure elimination, corrective action effectiveness, and maintenance cost efficiency.
  • Assess spare parts availability, lifecycle costs, obsolescence risk, modernization progress, and returns on reliability investments.
  • Evaluate asset risk reduction, business continuity readiness, training completion, and continuous improvement savings.

Candidate Profile

  • Proven leadership experience in asset reliability, reliability engineering, or maintenance within industrial, manufacturing, energy, or asset-intensive sectors.
  • In-depth expertise across asset lifecycle, reliability-centered maintenance, failure analysis, criticality assessments, and reliability improvement techniques.
  • Familiarity with preventive, predictive, condition-based, and corrective maintenance strategies and technologies including vibration analysis, thermography, oil analysis, ultrasound, and condition monitoring.
  • Experience managing CMMS/EAM systems and utilizing reliability data analytics.
  • Skilled in identifying underperforming assets and leading failure elimination projects.
  • Strong understanding of lifecycle planning, obsolescence management, replacement, modernization, and total cost of ownership considerations.
  • Competence in collaborating with OEMs, suppliers, contractors, and service providers.
  • Ability to develop business cases and oversee CAPEX for reliability initiatives.
  • Knowledge of industrial safety, asset risk management, and business continuity requirements.
  • Preferred experience with Industrial IoT, AI, predictive analytics, digital twins, TPM, Lean Maintenance, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or operational excellence methodologies.
  • Excellent documentation, governance, reporting, and program management skills.
  • Proven capability to lead technical teams across reliability, maintenance, and analytics functions.
  • Advanced problem-solving, statistical, project management, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Understanding of UAE and GCC industrial safety and regulatory environment is advantageous.
  • Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Reliability, Mechatronics Engineering, Asset Management, or related field.
  • Professional certifications in reliability, asset management, maintenance, Lean Six Sigma, or project management are beneficial.
  • Strong English communication skills; knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
  • Ability to independently manage complex programs and work remotely across global teams.
  • Mental attributes include strong data-driven analytical reasoning, proactive risk management, lifecycle orientation, commercial acumen, collaboration, and result focus.
