Key Responsibilities

• Maintain a visible and professional presence in stores to proactively prevent theft, fraud, and non-compliance with policies.
• Lawfully and safely detain individuals involved in theft or fraud, adhering strictly to company and legal protocols.
• Conduct thorough internal and external investigations by collecting and analyzing evidence, collaborating with law enforcement when necessary.
• Work alongside store leadership to identify patterns in loss and implement effective prevention measures to minimize shrinkage.
• Ensure adherence to company security standards, policies, and applicable provincial regulations.
• Adapt quickly to a fast-paced and changing work environment with flexibility in scheduling.

Qualifications & Skills

• Possession of a valid Provincial Security Guard License and familiarity with the Criminal Code of Canada, Trespass to Property Act, and related laws.
• Experienced in using surveillance technology including CCTV, as well as Microsoft Office suite including Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Exhibit professional and approachable demeanor with excellent communication skills.
• Demonstrate integrity, accountability, and a proactive mindset in problem-solving and decision-making.
• Previous exposure to grocery, pharmacy, or other high-volume retail environments is advantageous.

Additional Information

This role necessitates candidates to be at least 18 years old and complete a criminal background check as part of the hiring process. The hourly wage starts at $20.00 but can vary based on experience and location.
