About the Role
Join Loblaw Companies Limited in Greater Sudbury as a valued member of one of Canada's leading retail security teams. In this full-time position located at 1485 Lasalle Blvd, you will play an essential role in ensuring a secure shopping environment that protects employees, customers, and assets from theft and fraud in a busy grocery and pharmacy store.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a visible, professional presence within the store to deter theft, fraud, and policy breaches actively.
- Confidently and lawfully apprehend offenders, adhering strictly to company protocols and legal standards.
- Conduct thorough investigations, both internal and external, collecting and analyzing evidence while collaborating with law enforcement as needed.
- Work closely with store leadership to detect loss patterns and implement effective shrink reduction strategies.
- Ensure compliance with company security policies, operational mandates, and provincial regulations.
- Adapt efficiently to a fast-paced retail environment and maintain flexibility in scheduling, including working various shifts such as days, evenings, nights, and weekends.
Candidate Profile
- Must hold a valid Provincial Security Guard License and be knowledgeable about the Criminal Code of Canada, Trespass to Property Act, and related laws.
- Experienced with surveillance technology including CCTV and proficient in Microsoft Office applications like Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Exudes professionalism with strong communication skills, demonstrating approachability, confidence, and respect.
- Exhibits integrity, accountability, and a proactive mindset toward identifying and solving problems.
- Previous exposure to the grocery, pharmacy, or similar high-volume retail sectors is advantageous.
- Flexible availability to work full-time hours across various shifts including weekends.
