Role Overview

We are currently seeking an Asset Protection Representative at the Real Canadian Superstore in Duncan, BC (291 Cowichan Way). This role, previously known as Loss Prevention, forms part of one of Canada’s largest asset protection teams. Your work ensures our stores remain safe, enjoyable places for customers, focusing on loss prevention through collaboration with store management and local authorities.

Key Responsibilities

• Prevent, detect, and respond to theft and fraud within store locations.
• Work collaboratively with fellow Asset Protection Representatives when handling provincial or national organized retail crime (ORC) investigations.
• Maintain regular communication and cooperation with local law enforcement agencies.
• Conduct internal investigations, compile evidence, and prepare findings for court or arbitration proceedings.
• Identify shrinkage risks and enforce operational compliance to minimize losses.
• Establish and nurture strong partnerships with store management through meetings and team huddles, offering coaching on asset protection policies.
• Carry out store audits to support compliance and risk reduction.
• Participate in community events to foster engagement and awareness.
• Be flexible to work various shifts including days, evenings, nights, and weekends, completing a standard 40-hour workweek.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Possession of a valid Provincial Security Guard License is mandatory.
• Basic knowledge of the Canadian Criminal Code, Trespass to Property Act, Powers of Arrest, and experience with CCTV/surveillance systems.
• Proficient with Windows-based office applications such as Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Professional, approachable manner with a friendly disposition.
• High levels of initiative and integrity to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
