AS400 RPGLE Developer

Overview

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is currently seeking experienced professionals for the role of AS400 RPGLE Developer with 2 to 10 years of experience. The positions are available across multiple locations including Delhi, Pune, Indore, Bangalore, Hyderabad, and Chennai.

Role Responsibilities and Skills

• Develop and maintain commercial applications using CLP, RPG, and RPGLE languages within the AS400 environment.
• Apply comprehensive knowledge of AS400 technologies such as RPGLE, CLLE, DB2, and modular programming using ILE concepts—creating and managing Modules, Service Programs, and related components.
• Engage in the full software development lifecycle including effort estimation, unit testing, and coordination of System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with external vendors.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues encountered during various development stages effectively.
• Write and modify complex CL programs ensuring high-quality deliverables.
• Utilize understanding of DB2 database concepts and methodologies to support application functionality.
• Communicate effectively in English within a multicultural work environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the insurance industry, particularly life insurance, is highly regarded.
• Ability to work collaboratively within larger teams for successful project delivery.
• Demonstrated ability to perform under pressure while maintaining team cohesion.
