Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced AS400 Administrator to oversee the administration of IBM iSeries systems, with primary work location in Chennai or Gurgaon. This full-time position demands strong expertise in various aspects of AS400 systems management to ensure the smooth and secure operation of enterprise environments.
Key Responsibilities and Skills Required
- Expertly administer AS400 / IBM iSeries environments with 5 to 8 years of relevant experience.
- Manage IBM i operating systems including OS/400 and IBM i for optimal performance.
- Handle user profile creation, security administration, and configure proper authority settings.
- Perform backup and recovery operations using tools such as BRMS and develop disaster recovery plans.
- Manage job scheduling, batch processing, as well as monitor job execution to maintain workflows.
- Monitor system performance, conduct tuning activities, and execute capacity planning for efficient resource utilization.
- Implement and support TCP/IP, FTP, SFTP protocols along with broader networking functions on IBM i.
- Conduct PTF installs, operating system upgrades, and carry out routine system maintenance tasks.
- Provide strong troubleshooting capabilities to resolve system, application, and production-related issues promptly.
