Role Overview

The Art Teacher position is a full-time, on-site opportunity located in Doha, Qatar, at the American Academy School. The primary responsibility involves designing and delivering engaging art lessons that comply with the school's curriculum, tailored to accommodate a variety of student learning styles and cultural backgrounds.

Key Duties

• Prepare instructional materials and teach diverse art techniques and media.
• Evaluate student artworks and provide feedback to foster artistic and academic development.
• Participate in curriculum enhancement for art education.
• Organize exhibitions showcasing student artwork.
• Engage in school events and initiatives promoting creative expression.

Qualifications and Skills

• Strong teaching abilities in art education capable of engaging students across different ages and cultural backgrounds.
• Experience in lesson planning and curriculum design, especially within an American or international school environment.
• Hands-on proficiency in painting and other visual arts, suited for school-level learners.
• Possession of a Bachelor's degree or higher in Art Education, Fine Arts, Education, or a related discipline.
• Prior classroom experience, ideally with K-5 students in multicultural or international settings.
• Capacity to foster an inclusive, student-focused classroom that nurtures creativity and critical thinking.
• Effective interpersonal skills, classroom management, and teamwork with colleagues and families.
• Knowledgeable in applying technology and digital tools to enhance art instruction.
