Architectural Associate

Role Overview

This position focuses on supporting architectural projects from initial client briefing through to project completion, including design development, regulatory applications, and site coordination.

Key Responsibilities

• Engaging early with clients and professionals to agree on project objectives.
• Developing and refining project briefs throughout the project lifecycle.
• Preparing planning submissions and handling relevant regulatory processes.
• Creating design proposals with CAD tools and traditional drawings.
• Assisting detailed design phases; coordinating design details with project teams.
• Updating tender documents and construction drawings.
• Coordinating with authorities to secure necessary statutory approvals.
• Conducting site visits and documenting discussions and decisions.
• Supporting project architect with on-site coordination issues.
• Specifying appropriate construction materials and methods.
• Analyzing how design affects project performance and functionality, addressing practical concerns early.
• Liaising with all consultants involved in the project.
• Advising clients on suitable contract procurement methods.
• Leading the preparation of tender packets and construction documentation.
• Assisting with contract administration and project certification processes.
• Collecting and considering client feedback on ongoing and completed work.
• Monitoring site progress to ensure timelines are met.
• Addressing challenges arising during construction phases.
• Performing defect inspections to ensure quality.

Candidate Requirements

• At least four years of experience in the architectural sector in Singapore or Malaysia.
• Ability to collaborate within team settings and manage a fast-paced workload.
• Familiarity with building codes applicable in Singapore or Malaysia.
• A strong and well-prepared portfolio showcasing architectural work.
• Demonstrates a positive, proactive, and diligent approach to work.
