About the Role and Company
Cameron Laird Architects is a boutique commercial architectural firm based in Edinburgh City Centre, delivering projects throughout Scotland. Our portfolio encompasses a diverse range of commercial developments including new constructions, masterplanning, refurbishments, and alterations. We actively work across key sectors such as Retail, Industrial, Office, and Workplace. Additionally, we possess considerable expertise in Process and Manufacturing sectors and have ongoing projects in Science & Technology, Engineering & Product Manufacture, Food Production, and Distillery industries.
Position Overview
We are looking to hire a skilled Architect or experienced Part 2 assistant with at least three years of experience working in a UK practice. Candidates with a background or strong interest in retail, industrial, and manufacturing or process-related projects are especially desirable.
Candidate Profile
- Commercial awareness and proactive approach.
- Strong collaboration and team-oriented mindset.
- Sound understanding of the Scottish Planning system and Non-Domestic Building Regulation Standards.
- Excellent capabilities in graphic design, presentation, and effective communication.
- Robust technical knowledge and practical understanding of architectural processes.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and Adobe Photoshop is required.
- Experience with SketchUp or other 3D modeling software is advantageous but not mandatory.
