Architect

Overview

An Architect is responsible for creating, developing, and managing architectural and building projects from initial concept through to final execution. The role involves collaborating with clients, engineers, contractors, and project teams to deliver designs that are functional, visually appealing, technically sound, safe, and compliant with regulations.

Key Duties

• Conceive and develop architectural concepts, detailed designs, layouts, and construction drawings.
• Prepare comprehensive plans, elevations, sections, detailed specifications, and materials for presentations.
• Convert client needs into practical and aesthetic design solutions.
• Create 2D and 3D architectural models and visual representations.
• Coordinate architectural elements with structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering aspects.
• Review construction drawings, materials, specifications, and technical details critically.
• Perform site inspections and supervise architectural works during construction phases.
• Collaborate closely with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and project teams to ensure smooth project progress.
• Ensure adherence to building codes, safety regulations, planning guidelines, and quality standards in designs.
• Examine contractor submissions like shop drawings, material samples, and technical documents.
• Identify potential design or construction issues and support in developing appropriate solutions.
• Maintain thorough and accurate documentation including drawings and project records.
• Assist in managing project schedules, budgets, and design refinement.
• Support necessary submissions, inspections, approvals, and permit processes with authorities.
• Remain updated on architectural innovations, materials, technologies, and sustainable design methodologies.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture or a closely related discipline.
• Prior experience in architectural design, consultancy, construction, or project coordination preferred.
• In-depth understanding of architectural design principles, building codes, and construction processes.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, 3D Max, Adobe Creative Suite, or equivalent software.
• Good knowledge of coordination with structural, MEP systems, materials, and construction methods.
• Strong skills in design conceptualization, technical drawing, visualization, and problem-solving.
• Effective communication, presentation, coordination abilities, and collaborative teamwork skills.
• High attention to detail and capability to handle multiple projects with tight deadlines.
• Knowledge of sustainable design practices and Building Information Modeling (BIM) is advantageous.
• Professional architectural registration or certification is a plus where applicable.
• Creative thinker who is organized, technically skilled, proactive, and detail-oriented.
