Applied AI / ML Lead Software Engineer

Role Responsibilities

• Architect and implement applications powered by large language models (LLMs) that support workforce technology and operational needs.
• Develop and manage agentic AI workflows, including use of tools, planning mechanisms, structured outputs, and safety measures.
• Create and maintain MCP servers and tooling to securely enable agent interactions with internal services and data environments.
• Design evaluation methodologies for LLM systems and enhance performance through systematic experimentation.
• Package, deploy, scale, and monitor AI models and services in production environments.
• Establish monitoring frameworks for model and system health metrics, defining service-level objectives and agreements.
• Implement continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and automated testing processes for data, machine learning, and LLM systems.
• Ensure governance compliance including documentation, control measures, and adherence to security standards.
• Develop and support data pipelines along with feature and retrieval layers key to AI use cases.
• Collaborate with product owners, platform engineers, site reliability engineers, security teams, and data stakeholders to embed AI capabilities into platforms.
• Contribute to setting platform standards, reusable components, and best practices for AI engineering.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Proficient in Python programming for writing reliable, production-level code including testing and performance optimizations.
• Experienced in delivering LLM-based applications employing agentic AI approaches like tool usage, orchestration, and safety guardrails.
• Knowledgeable in building and maintaining MCP integrations for reliable system interactions.
• Strong foundation in software engineering fundamentals including version control, code reviewing, CI/CD implementation, and secure coding practices.
• Practical experience with ML/AI frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn, or MLflow.
• Experience deploying and managing workloads on AWS encompassing compute, storage, identity and access management, and networking basics.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

• Ability to model and optimize data within PostgreSQL databases.
• Experience using Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform to provision repeatable environments.
• Strong background in CI/CD tooling such as GitHub Actions or Jenkins for pipeline automation.
• Familiarity with distributed data processing and lakehouse architectures using technologies like Apache Spark or Databricks.
• Use of AI developer productivity tools such as Claude Code and GitHub Copilot responsibly and effectively.
• Experience collaborating on end-user service platforms including virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI), application delivery, and enterprise tools.
