The Role and Impact

We are expanding our AI workspace platform, North, which transforms how enterprises employ AI by providing secure, customizable, and integrated environments. The focus is on creating reliable, user-friendly AI experiences within critical workflows. The Applied AI Engineer, Agents & Automations, plays a vital role developing production-ready AI features such as agent builders, evaluation frameworks, proactive intelligence, and innovative AI collaboration interfaces.

Key Responsibilities

• Create AI-driven product features enabling users to design, assess, and optimize workflows on North.
• Develop and implement new model interaction interfaces, including workflow composition tools, proactive assistants, and review processes enhancing human-AI collaboration.
• Construct systems for evaluation, observability, and feedback to assess AI success within enterprise workflows.
• Boost AI reliability through strategic product design, prompt engineering, context management, tool integration, instrumentation, and feedback mechanisms.
• Analyze production issues, user feedback, and real-world data to improve product behavior, testing, and modeling signals.
• Collaborate closely with teams across modeling, product, design, and customers to define success metrics and deliver measurable progress.
• Determine when workflows need more constrained designs, enhanced model interfaces, better evaluation methods, or deeper modeling efforts.

Candidate Profile

• Experience delivering AI-assisted or agent-powered products in production and iterating based on real-world insights.
• Strong software engineering skills spanning backend systems, front-end products, data handling, evaluation processes, and model interaction.
• Focus on tangible user outcomes and system performance beyond just model metrics.
• Excellent product intuition ensuring seamless integration of interface, workflow, and model interactions to boost user success.
• Enjoyment of debugging complex failures and converting insights from production and testing into enduring enhancements.
• Comfort owning ambiguous problems from start to finish and working across different system layers to produce valuable outcomes.

Compensation

• In Canada: $215,000 to $310,000 annually
• In California, New York, Washington States: $180,000 to $260,000 annually
• Other US states: $150,000 to $220,000 annually
