Role Overview
This role centers on providing critical application packaging services to various managed service customers. Working within a larger team, you will respond to both contractual and project-driven requests. This position is based in Wellington and is exclusively available to New Zealand citizens eligible for New Zealand Top Secret Security (TSV) clearance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead comprehensive application packaging activities, including packaging, repackaging, testing, and deploying applications for both business-as-usual (BAU) operations and project initiatives.
- Oversee application lifecycle tasks such as discovery, analysis, packaging, troubleshooting, deployment assistance, and continuous optimization.
- Work closely with project teams, customers, and stakeholders to scope, plan, and deliver application-related projects within predetermined schedules and budgets.
- Create and maintain operational documentation, standards, and knowledge base materials to facilitate service delivery and seamless handover to BAU support teams.
- Diagnose and resolve any application packaging or deployment issues promptly to minimize disruption and uphold service quality.
- Utilize enterprise tools, frameworks, and processes aligned with ITIL to provide reliable, compliant, and quality application services.
- Promote continuous improvements aimed at boosting performance, efficiency, cost reduction, and better customer satisfaction.
- Maintain strong relationships with customers through responsive communication, professional interaction, and proactive management of tasks and deliverables.
- Participate in pre-sales activities including bid responses, solution design, proof-of-concept work, and project scoping.
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of governance, reporting, forecasting, time tracking, and project administration tasks.
- Develop productive working relationships across teams, acting as a trusted advisor to customers, colleagues, and third-party stakeholders.
- Mentor junior team members by sharing knowledge and supporting skill development throughout the organization.
- Take ownership and show accountability in problem-solving and contributing to a collaborative, high-performing team culture.
- Provide after-hours support for projects and operations as needed to fulfill customer and business goals.
- Commit to ongoing professional development through continuous learning, industry certifications, and engagement in team capability enhancement initiatives.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the IT industry, preferably with an IT managed service provider.
- At least 3 years’ experience specifically in application packaging roles.
- Deep expertise in application packaging tools such as InstallShield and Master Packager.
- Strong working knowledge of Windows 10, Windows 11, and MacOS operating systems.
- Familiarity with endpoint management platforms including System Centre Configuration Manager, Intune, VMware Workspace ONE, and Jamf.
- Excellent troubleshooting capabilities complemented by strong customer service, communication, and prioritization skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in dynamic environments.
- Willingness to travel to Datacom offices, client sites, and conferences as necessary.
