About the Role
A reputable trading company based in Singapore is seeking to enhance its team responsible for supporting commodity trading systems, specifically focusing on Energy Trading and Risk Management (ETRM) platforms. This role offers an excellent chance for professionals with hands-on experience in trading systems to deepen their expertise in maintaining and optimizing trading operations across the commodity sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily operational support for the ETRM and trading platforms to guarantee seamless and reliable system performance.
- Diagnose and resolve issues related to trade booking, system functions, interfaces, and data quality raised by departments such as Trading, Risk, Operations, and Finance.
- Ensure precise trade entry and uphold data consistency throughout the entire trading workflow.
- Oversee and verify the completion of batch jobs, system tasks, interfaces, and reconciliation processes on a daily basis.
- Maintain and update market data feeds, pricing curves, reference datasets, and system settings as necessary.
- Assist in investigating discrepancies involving profit & loss, risk figures, settlements, and related reports linked to system data.
- Collaborate with internal IT personnel and outside vendors to handle incident resolution, escalation procedures, and coordination of corrective actions.
- Participate in system upgrade projects, configuration revisions, testing efforts—including User Acceptance Testing (UAT)—and other enhancement activities.
- Collect user feedback and requirements to support ongoing improvements in trading procedures and internal controls.
- Prepare and maintain relevant documentation such as issue logs, process guidelines, and test cases when required.
Qualifications and Experience
- A Bachelor's degree in fields such as Finance, Engineering, Information Systems, Economics, Computer Science or related areas.
- Approximately 4 to 5 years of pertinent experience supporting trading systems within fast-paced trading environments.
- Strong understanding of trade lifecycle elements including trade capture, pricing, market data management, risk assessment, profit and loss calculations, settlements, and reporting processes.
- Proficient problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities related to trading platform support.
- Exposure to projects involving system enhancements, implementations, or testing is beneficial.
- Excellent communication skills capable of effectively engaging both technical teams and business users.
