Material Inventory Controller - Jurong Island

We are seeking a Material Inventory Controller to oversee the management and availability of spare parts, tools, consumables, and materials essential for power plant maintenance operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee inventory levels, movements, and availability of materials required for maintenance activities.
• Review maintenance plans and required parts to ensure readiness for both scheduled and emergency maintenance.
• Maintain accurate records regarding material receipts, issuance, transfers, returns, and stock balances using relevant systems.
• Collaborate with Procurement, Engineering, Maintenance, Warehouse, suppliers, and logistics partners to ensure timely material delivery.
• Initiate purchase requisitions and orders, manage material invoices, and track outstanding deliveries and payments.
• Expedite delivery of critical parts and address potential shortages or delays through proactive follow-up.
• Conduct or oversee inspections of received goods to confirm quantity, specifications, condition, and compliance with documentation.
• Identify and report damaged or non-compliant materials, managing replacement or corrective actions.
• Ensure proper labeling, storage, preservation, and handling of materials according to procedures and safety standards.
• Coordinate picking, kitting, staging, pre-packing, dispatch, and return processes for maintenance parts.
• Prepare and verify logistics and shipping paperwork including packing lists, delivery orders, bills of lading, and permits.
• Support inspections and coordination for repair or replacement of dismantled or returned components.
• Perform regular stock counts and reconcile inventory discrepancies promptly.
• Monitor critical, slow-moving, and obsolete stock, and provide recommendations on replenishment and optimization.
• Generate regular inventory reports detailing stock levels, usage, delivery status, shortages, and maintenance readiness.
• Maintain thorough document control and audit trails for all material transactions and related records.
• Provide on-site coordination and administrative assistance during planned outages and unplanned maintenance, including contractor access and documentation management.
• Participate in ad-hoc projects and cross-functional initiatives related to materials control, warehouse management, logistics, and maintenance operations.

Qualifications and Experience

• Possess a Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related discipline.
• Have at least 3 years of relevant experience in materials control or inventory management.
• Knowledge of SAP systems is considered an advantage.
• Comfortable with a hybrid working arrangement alternating between Headquarters and Jurong Island.
