APG Technician - General Mechanic

About the Role

Boeing Global Services is looking for a Crew Chief APG Technician - General Mechanic to join the maintenance team at Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar. This role involves complex mechanical work on aerospace vehicles, ensuring systems' airworthiness and compliance amid assembly, disassembly, and modifications. The technician will lead troubleshooting activities on pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems, oversee testing and documentation, and provide mentorship and training to others under general supervision.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on tactical aircraft, examining and repairing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, fuel, and weapons systems including engines and flight controls.
• Remove, install, and align various aircraft systems such as engines, landing gear, hydraulic and fuel systems; test repaired components to verify functionality.
• Conduct preventive maintenance, lubrication, cleaning, adjustments, and replace consumable parts following maintenance schedules.
• Perform pre-flight, post-flight, and routine inspections to detect and fix discrepancies, maintaining accurate records of maintenance and component lifecycles.
• Undertake validation and verification testing of systems and components, ensuring proper cleanliness and serviceability before use.
• Manage safe handling operations of aerospace vehicles including jacking, towing, and system operations.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to maintain aircraft readiness for flight.
• Assign and conduct Cross Utilization Training (CUT) as necessary.
• Work under general supervision following all technical and safety guidelines.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum one year of experience in airframe, powerplant, or general mechanics.
• Preferred experience working with military fighter aircraft platforms such as F-16, F-18, F-22, F-5, F-14, or F-15.
• Educational background from military or vocational training related to mechanics or equivalent.
• High school diploma or GED with relevant work experience.
• Willingness to work varied shifts, including weekends, overtime, and rotating schedules.

Additional Requirements and Conditions

• Capability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance, requiring U.S. citizenship and subsequent interim or final Secret Clearance.
