The Enterprise Go-To-Market (GTM) team at OpenAI supports major corporations in adopting and scaling AI solutions globally, including ChatGPT Enterprise and API platforms. This team works with industries like Financial Services, Life Sciences, Retail, Manufacturing, and Technology across Asia Pacific to enhance customer experiences, improve operations, and drive innovation through AI.

Role Overview

The APAC Sales Development Leader will spearhead building and managing OpenAI’s enterprise Sales Development function across the Asia Pacific region. Reporting to the Head of Global Sales Development, this leadership role is key in expanding pipeline generation and market outreach, establishing how OpenAI engages enterprise clients in APAC, and developing a high-performing Sales Development Representative (SDR) organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and lead the APAC Sales Development team, including strategy for hiring, organizational design, training, and performance management.
• Guide SDR managers and teams across multiple APAC markets to achieve excellence.
• Own the regional strategy for generating new enterprise sales opportunities and building a strong qualified pipeline.
• Convert product engagements, developer activity, pilots, and inbound interest into enterprise-ready prospects.
• Design localized and vertical-specific sales development approaches suited to various APAC markets and buyer behaviors.
• Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Field Engineering, Partnerships, and Strategy & Operations to align a regional GTM strategy.
• Create scalable pipeline generation methodologies including outbound, inbound, account-based marketing (ABM), partner-driven, and product-led tactics.
• Establish data-driven processes focused on pipeline quality, deal conversion rates, velocity, and long-term revenue impact.
• Contribute to market expansion plans across APAC, including investment decisions and territory management.
• Serve as a strategic advisor to regional sales leadership to maximize enterprise demand capture and acceleration.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Over 10 years in enterprise sales, revenue, or GTM leadership roles.
• Proven experience leading SDR or pipeline generation teams in the APAC region.
• Skilled in managing multicultural, geographically distributed teams across different countries and time zones.
• Demonstrated success building demand generation engines for fast-growing tech or platform enterprises.
• Familiar with product-led and usage-driven GTM strategies such as product qualified leads (PQLs), pilots, and free-to-paid conversion models.
• Insightful understanding of complexities related to enterprise selling in diverse APAC markets.
• Strong data orientation with abilities in forecasting, pipeline analytics, and operational discipline.
• Experienced navigating matrix organizations bridging Sales, Product, Marketing, Partnerships, and Operations.
• Exceptional leadership skills with talent coaching and senior stakeholder influence capability.
• Excellent executive communication presence, adept at engaging enterprise clients and partners regionally.
