APAC Risk Specialist

Overview

Join a leading global payments company as an APAC Risk Specialist within the Enterprise Risk Management team. In this role, you will serve as the key Enterprise Risk liaison for the APAC region, embedding risk accountability into business processes and supporting strategic goals responsibly and sustainably. You will lead critical initiatives, collaborate with stakeholders across the region and globally, and play an essential role in identifying and mitigating risks.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with stakeholders to tackle complex and region-specific risk challenges, balancing risk and reward in decision-making processes.
• Provide clear and professional communication of risk-related insights and recommendations to executive and senior leadership.
• Utilize sound judgment to evaluate potential risks in alignment with the Enterprise Risk Management Framework.
• Track and escalate critical risk issues to appropriate parties, acting as a reliable escalation point.
• Report risk assessment findings to APAC Boards and other key governance bodies.
• Coordinate with multiple teams across various geographies and time zones to achieve business objectives, with potential after-hours availability to accommodate time zone differences.
• Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

• Demonstrated experience in risk management, including assessing risks and controls effectively.
• In-depth knowledge of local risk management requirements within APAC jurisdictions.
• Strong time management capabilities with the aptitude to prioritize tasks in a dynamic work environment.
• Proven ability to build and nurture productive relationships at all organizational levels.
• Exceptional attention to detail coupled with excellent communication skills.
• Dedicated work ethic with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
• Innovative problem-solving skills that align with business priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Background in merchant acquiring services.
• Experience in drafting and presenting reports to executive-level stakeholders.
• Familiarity with local regulatory risk requirements within the APAC region.
