Deepgram is a pioneering platform at the core of the rapidly expanding Voice AI industry, offering real-time speech-to-text and text-to-speech APIs alongside scalable voice agent solutions. Company Culture and Expectations
At Deepgram, an AI-centric approach drives all operations and innovation. Team members are expected to creatively integrate advanced AI tools into their work routines and embrace rapid changes inherent in AI-driven environments. This role demands adaptability, continuous learning, and a proactive mindset rather than a conventional 9-to-5 structure.
Role Overview
As Deepgram expands its footprint across Asia-Pacific (APAC), this position focuses on growing and managing strategic partnerships across key markets including Australia and New Zealand (ANZ), ASEAN, Japan, Korea, India, and Greater China. The APAC Partner Business Development Manager will collaborate closely with sales, engineering, product, and marketing teams as well as global partners to enhance Deepgram's presence as a leading voice AI solution provider. This role will emphasize developing multiple sales strategies—sell-to, sell-through, and sell-with—in partnership with various ecosystem players such as hyperscalers, ISVs, CCaaS/CX platforms, GSIs, telcos, and regional system integrators.
Key Responsibilities
- Forge and nurture strategic partnerships throughout the APAC region.
- Create tailored joint value propositions, go-to-market strategies, and regional co-selling programs aligned with local market characteristics.
- Drive sales initiatives including sell-to, sell-through, and collaborative sell-with efforts alongside partner organizations.
- Support business development by generating and advancing pipelines sourced and influenced by partners.
- Facilitate co-sell engagements via client meetings, presentations, workshops, and negotiations.
- Identify and close new opportunities driven by partners across APAC territories.
- Monitor pipeline health and maintain accurate sales forecasts aligning with global revenue targets.
- Expand the partner ecosystem by identifying and onboarding partners aligned with Deepgram’s strategic priorities.
- Launch and manage new partner programs and regional marketing initiatives.
- Contribute to the creation of enabling materials, localized assets, and solution positioning content.
- Represent Deepgram in various regional engagements, both virtual and face-to-face.
- Stay current on APAC market trends, AI technologies, competitive landscape, regulatory frameworks, and AI sovereignty initiatives.
- Advocate for regional market needs within the company to influence strategy and operations.
Required Qualifications
- Proven background in business development, alliance management, partnerships, or enterprise sales within the technology sector.
- Demonstrated success in driving revenue through strategic partnerships and co-selling across APAC markets.
- Strong familiarity with APAC business environments, including experience operating in multiple countries such as ANZ, ASEAN, Japan, Korea, India, and Greater China.
- Experience collaborating with cloud platform providers, independent software vendors (ISVs), global system integrators (GSIs), telecommunications companies, and customer contact or experience platforms.
- Excellent skills in communication, negotiation, and maintaining professional relationships.
- Analytical acumen with disciplined approach to operational management and forecasting.
- A proactive, self-directed work style suited to dynamic, evolving, and ambiguous settings.
- Ability to work effectively across dispersed global teams and differing time zones.
- Willingness to travel periodically within the APAC region.
Preferred Attributes
- Experience in AI, voice AI, speech AI, contact center as a service (CCaaS), or related technology sectors.
- Existing network connections with AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Azure, APAC GSIs, telecom operators, or ecosystem partners.
- Background in initiating and scaling new partner programs or go-to-market strategies.
- Proficiency in an additional APAC language such as Mandarin, Japanese, Korean, or Bahasa.
