Ansible Developer - Infrastructure and Data Centre Automation

About the Role

Wipro is looking for an experienced Ansible Developer with over 8 years in the field to join our team in Noida. This role focuses on designing, developing, managing, and enhancing automation solutions across server, network, cloud, and infrastructure domains, aimed at streamlining IT operations, boosting service delivery, and minimizing manual tasks.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and maintain enterprise automation solutions using Ansible Automation Platform (AAP), Ansible Tower, and AWX.
• Develop and manage Ansible Playbooks, Roles, Collections, and Inventories for automating infrastructure and operations.
• Automate various infrastructure tasks such as server provisioning, OS configurations, patching, and compliance checks.
• Administer and provide production support for Ansible environments, including platform upgrades and maintenance.
• Design, implement, and manage AWX infrastructure ensuring scalability, security, and integration with enterprise systems.
• Configure AWX job templates, workflows, credentials, inventories, and execution environments.
• Collaborate with Infrastructure, Networking, Security, Cloud, and Operations teams to identify automation opportunities.
• Integrate Ansible with enterprise applications and third-party tools via REST APIs and other methods.
• Establish reusable automation frameworks, best practices, and standards to facilitate scalable automation.
• Troubleshoot and optimize existing automation workflows for improved performance and reliability.
• Contribute to code reviews, testing, deployment, and governance related to automation processes.
• Ensure compliance with security and operational standards for automation solutions.
• Maintain comprehensive technical documentation including SOPs, knowledge articles, and runbooks.
• Support initiatives aiming to extend automation coverage and operational efficiency.

Required Skills and Experience

• Extensive expertise with Ansible Automation Platform, Ansible Tower, and AWX.
• Proven ability to develop and manage Ansible Playbooks, Roles, Collections, and Job Templates.
• Strong background in infrastructure automation, configuration management, and orchestration.
• Solid experience with Linux administration in enterprise environments.
• Familiarity with Data Centre operations, infrastructure management, and platform administration.
• Hands-on experience automating server, network, storage, and cloud operational processes.
• Knowledge of IT Service Management processes such as Incident, Problem, Change, and Service Request management.
• Proficient scripting and automation skills using Python, PowerShell, and YAML.
• Experience developing automation integrations using REST APIs and web services.
• Experience with version control and CI/CD tools like Git, GitHub, GitLab, or Azure Repos.
• Practical cloud experience with Microsoft Azure and/or Google Cloud Platform.
• Experience with hybrid and cloud infrastructure automation integration.
• Database knowledge including relational databases (PostgreSQL, MariaDB, MySQL, Oracle) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Redis, HBase).

Preferred Qualifications

• Red Hat Certified Specialist in Ansible Automation or equivalent credentials.
• Experience enforcing enterprise automation governance and compliance.
• Understanding of DevOps, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and CI/CD methodologies.
• Familiarity with container technologies like Docker and Kubernetes is a plus.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder liaison skills.
