Job description

Position Overview

Join a leading banking group in Sydney as a DevOps Engineer, where you will contribute to designing, developing, and operating the platform and automation systems that enable engineering teams to deliver software securely and reliably. You will focus on building and managing CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and container orchestration to support mission-critical banking and financial services at scale.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and sustain CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitLab, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins.
  • Implement and manage infrastructure as code with technologies like Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Operate container platforms and orchestration frameworks, including Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Collaborate with platform, security, and application teams to enhance system security, reliability, and observability.
  • Participate throughout the software lifecycle from design and development to production operations.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Practical experience building and maintaining CI/CD workflows.
  • Proficient in infrastructure as code using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar tools.
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies.
  • Strong background working with cloud services such as AWS and Azure.
  • Skilled in scripting and automation (Python, Bash, or equivalent).
  • Knowledgeable in monitoring and observability tools like Datadog, Splunk, Prometheus, and Grafana.
  • Excellent problem-solving capabilities and effective collaboration with engineering teams.
