About Animal Referral Hospital Canberra

Key Responsibilities
- Cleaning and resetting cages for hospitalised and boarding animals
- Providing food, water, and walking services to inpatients and animals boarding with us
- Upkeeping the cleanliness of hospital areas, including floors, bins, and surfaces, multiple times throughout the day
- Supporting patient handling and monitoring activities under staff supervision
- Managing daily laundry and cleaning of dishes
- Restocking supplies and consumable items across the hospital
Role Details
This is a primarily support and cleaning-focused job with minimal direct animal handling, available on a full-time basis from 6:30 AM to 2:30 PM, and part-time hours are also available.

Candidate Requirements
- Strong passion for animal welfare and dedication to their care
- Previous experience working in animal hospitals, shelters, boarding facilities, or comparable settings
- Excellent teamwork and communication abilities
- Dependable, punctual, and prepared to work hands-on
- Commitment to maintaining high cleanliness and care standards with keen attention to detail
- Possession or pursuit of Certificate II or III in Animal Studies is highly regarded but not mandatory; attitude, empathy, and eagerness to learn are most important
