About Animal Referral Hospital Canberra

Key Responsibilities

  • Cleaning and resetting cages for hospitalised and boarding animals
  • Providing food, water, and walking services to inpatients and animals boarding with us
  • Upkeeping the cleanliness of hospital areas, including floors, bins, and surfaces, multiple times throughout the day
  • Supporting patient handling and monitoring activities under staff supervision
  • Managing daily laundry and cleaning of dishes
  • Restocking supplies and consumable items across the hospital

Role Details

This is a primarily support and cleaning-focused job with minimal direct animal handling, available on a full-time basis from 6:30 AM to 2:30 PM, and part-time hours are also available.

Candidate Requirements

  • Strong passion for animal welfare and dedication to their care
  • Previous experience working in animal hospitals, shelters, boarding facilities, or comparable settings
  • Excellent teamwork and communication abilities
  • Dependable, punctual, and prepared to work hands-on
  • Commitment to maintaining high cleanliness and care standards with keen attention to detail
  • Possession or pursuit of Certificate II or III in Animal Studies is highly regarded but not mandatory; attitude, empathy, and eagerness to learn are most important
