Role Overview
The Spend Squad develops products enabling customers to spend money worldwide. Currently, the team processes approximately £34 billion annually and issues payment cards across more than 40 countries. They focus on tailoring localized spending experiences globally.
The Android Engineer will play a pivotal role in delivering direct customer-facing features for one of Wise’s most influential and fastest-growing products.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate actively in engineer-led product initiatives, overseeing feature implementation and technical planning to ensure scalability and quality delivery.
- Support development across product teams by working on essential user journeys such as card ordering, payments, 3DS authentication, and dispute management.
- Produce clean, maintainable Android code while promoting mobile development best practices and collaborating closely with globally distributed teams for a seamless user experience.
- Influence the direction and evolution of Wise’s high-profile products by contributing to strategic and technical roadmaps beyond execution.
- Engage in a transparent, ownership-driven workplace alongside skilled frontend, backend, and product professionals.
Candidate Qualifications
- A minimum of 3 years of practical experience creating and maintaining Android applications.
- Strong expertise in launching and optimizing high-performance Android apps.
- Hands-on experience with modern UI frameworks such as Jetpack Compose.
- A strong customer-centric approach, utilizing data to identify and resolve user pain points effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining complex technical details to non-technical audiences.
- A collaborative spirit, excelling within a globally distributed team environment and contributing to shared success.

Salary ranges from SGD 9,350 to 12,400 monthly base pay, plus restricted stock units (RSUs).
