Role Overview
We are seeking an Internal Audit Lead based in Dubai to head our UAE Internal Audit function across multiple legal entities. This role entails directing and overseeing the internal audit processes, involving both global and regional workflows, in collaboration with internal teams and external partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain the internal audit assurance framework, including continuous monitoring and automated auditing measures.
- Contribute to projects that establish a unified assurance model, particularly for the MEA region.
- Develop comprehensive annual audit plans for UAE and MEA legal entities, involving risk assessments and budgeting tasks.
- Build and guide a competent, self-sufficient internal audit team locally and globally.
- Ensure timely execution of audit plans with meaningful and actionable results.
- Track and evaluate the adoption of audit recommendations, reporting outcomes to oversight bodies.
- Forge strong internal and external relationships, including with the Board and regulatory authorities, becoming a trusted business advisor.
- Champion a robust control culture by fostering impactful assurance programs across Wise.
- Provide strategic leadership during audits, business partnerships, and changes within the organization.
Candidate Profile
- Proven background in risk management, control, or assurance roles.
- Experience within technology, fintech, payment sectors, or broader financial services.
- Familiarity with UAE regulatory frameworks such as CBUAE, DIFC, or ADGM.
- Ability to work independently, exercise judgment, and take ownership of responsibilities.
- Strong problem-solving skills with minimal supervision.
- Excellent coordination abilities and accountability enforcement for teams.
- Use of data analytics and technology tools in work processes and decision-making.
- Detail-oriented with the capability to present concise key messages adapted for different audiences.
- Driven to foster change, improvement, and support stakeholders effectively.
- Confident decision-maker who works proactively and autonomously.
- Skilled relationship builder who influences across organizational layers and external parties.
- Experience managing full audit plan delivery, staffing, and reporting multiple engagements.
- Direct engagement with Board and Regulators, conveying critical issues clearly.
