The Spend Squad
The Spend Squad develops products enabling customers to spend money anywhere globally. Currently, we manage around 34 billion annually and issue cards in over 40 countries. We continuously enhance features to localize spending experiences regardless of users' locations.
Role Overview
As an Android Engineer within the Spend Squad, you will own the direct customer-facing components of one of Wise's most significant and fastest-growing products.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and participate in engineering-driven feature initiatives from technical planning to implementation, ensuring scalable and effective delivery.
- Collaborate with cross-functional product teams on card product development, including card ordering, transaction management, 3DS authentication, and dispute resolution.
- Produce clean, maintainable Android code, champion mobile development best practices, and work closely with a globally distributed team for a seamless app experience.
- Influence the evolution of one of Wise's highest-traffic and most recognizable products through strategic input and roadmap contribution.
- Foster a collaborative, transparent, and ownership-driven work environment alongside talented frontend, backend, and product colleagues.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum of 3 years’ practical experience in Android application development.
- Proven ability to build, deploy, and sustain high-performance Android applications.
- Hands-on experience with modern Android UI frameworks, especially Jetpack Compose.
- A strong focus on improving customer experience by identifying pain points and backing technical decisions with data.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively explain technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
- A cooperative and team-oriented approach thriving within globally distributed squads and tribes.
Compensation and Benefits
The position offers a base salary range of 9350 to 12400 SGD per month, in addition to RSUs.
