Role Overview

We are seeking an Android Engineer to join our Regional Experience team. This team collaborates globally to deliver tailored user experiences that feel native and relevant to each local market. You will work across all aspects of our product including onboarding, verification, as well as money sending, receiving, and spending.

The role requires initiative-taking, close cooperation with product managers and designers, and working on impactful projects spanning all our markets. You will help define the engineering culture, build new experiments and experiences, and develop flexible, maintainable foundations adaptable for all regional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Develop impactful Android features by working closely with regional and product teams to deliver high-quality, seamless user experiences.
  • Promote and contribute to a positive team culture through active participation in agile processes and continuous refinement of workflows.
  • Drive excellence in Android engineering across the company by setting high standards and best practices.

Qualifications

  • Experience building and launching customer-centric Android applications.
  • Strong command of Kotlin programming language.
  • Knowledge of modern mobile architecture patterns such as Unidirectional Data Flow, Dependency Injection, and structured concurrency with Kotlin Coroutines.
  • Commitment to writing testable, maintainable code.
  • Understanding of RESTful API design principles.
  • A strong product focus with passion for enhancing user experience, emphasizing user needs and informed decision-making by data.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining technical subjects to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within teams and independently solve problems proactively.

Preferred but not required: Experience with declarative UI frameworks such as Jetpack Compose, Gradle build system, and continuous integration/deployment tools like GitHub Actions.

Additional Information

  • Starting annual salary range: £68,000 to £87,500 plus Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
