Role Overview
We seek a passionate mid-level Android Engineer to join our Customer Experience team in London. This role plays a vital part in enhancing our Android app, which boasts over 5 million active users globally, a stellar 4.8-star average rating on the Google Play Store, and 99.9% crash-free sessions. The ideal candidate thrives in building high-quality, scalable mobile applications, primarily using Kotlin, with an aim to phase out Java usage.
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality Android projects adhering to best practices and guidelines.
- Collaborate closely with design teams to translate clean, platform-appropriate designs into functional app features.
- Participate actively in an agile, cross-functional team environment, sharing ownership of engineering deliverables.
- Take full ownership of substantial workstreams from initial planning through to execution and release.
- Contribute to discussions on technical architecture and design decisions.
Experience and Qualifications
- Proven experience as a mid-level Android developer with strong proficiency in Kotlin.
- Familiarity with reactive programming paradigms and techniques.
- Experience working with modern Android Jetpack components including Kotlin Coroutines, Flow/StateFlow, and RxJava in legacy sections.
- Knowledge and application of dependency injection frameworks such as Hilt.
- Strong understanding and practice of unit and UI testing to ensure code quality.
- Comfortable working within agile and scrum methodologies.
- Ability to contribute technically to architectural and design discussions.
- Willingness to engage with the wider Android community through activities like blogging, open-source contributions, or speaking engagements.

Working Arrangement
