Key Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with Product Managers, UI/UX Designers, and QA Engineers to conceptualize and implement new Android app features.
• Partner with API developers and fellow frontend engineers to build and sustain a scalable and robust system supporting a broad user base.
• Investigate and recommend technological advancements to ensure continuous improvement of our Android applications.
• Keep abreast of the latest Android platform updates and integrate these improvements to enhance product offerings.
• Continuously improve development processes and team coordination to achieve more efficient solutions.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 8 to 10 years of professional software development experience.
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience developing Android applications using Kotlin.
• In-depth knowledge of Android platform's current features and development best practices.
• Familiarity with Data Binding, LiveData, Android Architecture Components including ViewModels, Activities, Fragments, Navigation, Jetpack Compose, Flow, and Dependency Injection frameworks (Hilt or Dagger).
• Solid understanding of functional and reactive programming paradigms.
• Proficient with development tools such as Android Studio, IntelliJ, Jenkins/Bitrise, Gradle, and Git version control.
• Experience working with key third-party libraries like KTX, Retrofit, Glide, Coroutines, and Google Maps SDK.
• Strong communication skills coupled with a positive mindset and empathy towards team members.
• Motivation to collaboratively develop innovative products within teams.
• Proactive approach to continuous improvement and organizational contribution.
• Good design sensibilities focused on user experience.
• Experience in Agile software development methodologies.
• Familiarity with unit testing practices.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience setting up and working with CI/CD pipelines.
• Contributions to open source projects.
• Knowledge or experience in the travel industry domain.
• Background in developing consumer-facing products.
• Experience with internationalization in software development.
• Understanding of Material Design guidelines and components.
• Expertise in automated testing frameworks.
• Experience with projects involving multiple modules and product flavors.
• Proficiency using Gradle build systems.
