Job Overview
This role involves managing flight dispatch operations to support aircraft flights from Aloula Aviation's bases. The dispatcher supervises flight planning, scheduling, dispatch, and in-flight monitoring during shifts.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate flights based on user requests, considering cargo loads, route selection, and ground handling necessities.
- Schedule flights by assigning suitable aircraft types and configurations.
- Calculate necessary fuel amounts and cabin load capacities.
- Verify that flight crews are informed, legally cleared to operate, and arrange their transport to the airport.
- Ensure aircraft release from maintenance, completion of fuel uplift, proper cabin setup, correct ramp positioning, and catering requests are fulfilled.
- Prepare crew briefings by assembling flight plans and load documentation.
- Confirm compliance with Civil Aviation and Military clearances, ensuring all are documented.
- Gather and analyze weather data and NOTAMs.
- Modify flight schedules as necessary based on updates.
- Conduct crew briefings and dispatch flights effectively.
- Review flight parameters such as timing, routing, load plans, weather, and ground handling with the Pilot in Command.
- Maintain records and reports including shift logbooks, daily management reports, and archived flight files.
- Carry out continuous flight watch and monitoring duties.
- Operate aviation communication devices including air/ground radios and data terminals.
- Respond promptly to emergency communication systems.
- Keep contact information current and accurate.
- Adhere to confidentiality policies and operational procedures.
- Perform post-flight evaluations comparing actual routes with planned schedules, ensuring all passenger and cargo requirements were met and arranging reschedules if needed.
- Monitor aircraft maintenance status to prevent impact on subsequent departures.
- Ensure flight crews are legal for upcoming operations, coordinate their ground transport, update them on any changes, and complete necessary documentation.
- Engage in departmental Total Quality Management initiatives and other duties assigned by supervisors.
- Provide training and mentoring aligned with job training standards.
- Maintain emergency and safety readiness by familiarizing with emergency guides and participating in drills.
- Execute specific responsibilities outlined in the Area Operations Procedures Guide.
Qualifications
- Diploma in a relevant field.
- Possession of a Dispatcher's GACA License.
- A minimum of five years' experience in related roles.
