Role Overview

As an Aircraft Detail Technician, you will play a crucial role in preparing and cleaning aircraft for delivery, involving detailed interior and exterior work, polishing, waxing, buffing, and general upkeep of aircraft surfaces. This requires physical stamina, dexterity, and a strong commitment to quality. Additional responsibilities include maintaining cleanliness of hangar floors and other general shop upkeep duties.

Core Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed washing, waxing, and interior/exterior cleaning of aircraft.
  • Polish, buff, and treat various aircraft sections as needed.
  • Apply tape and prepare aircraft prior to detailing tasks.
  • Support hangar floor cleaning and general tidying duties.
  • Communicate effectively in English, including speaking, reading, and writing.
  • Carry out any other duties assigned by supervisors or management.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A valid driver’s license suitable for airline travel and/or a passport is preferred but not essential.
  • Previous experience in auto detailing or cleaning is favored.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Reliable attendance and transportation to and from work daily.
  • Adherence to FAA guidelines and company safety standards.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and routinely perform physical activities including walking, bending, squatting, climbing ladders up to 12 feet, and working on various stands.
  • Competent at following instructions and engaging professionally with coworkers.

Work Environment and Conditions

This full-time position primarily operates within a hangar setting and may require working both indoors and outdoors in all seasons. The role involves varied physical positioning on and around aircraft, including working on elevated platforms and ladders. Tools and equipment utilized include pneumatic buffers, sanders, cleaning cloths, and floor-cleaning machines.

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly wage typically falls between $18.50 and $23, varying according to experience, location, and performance. Shift differentials apply for non-standard hours.
