Russell McVeagh, a premier commercial law firm in New Zealand, seeks an AI Transformation Manager to spearhead the comprehensive adoption of artificial intelligence and cutting-edge technologies firmwide. This role offers a pivotal opportunity to influence legal service enhancement, client success, and workplace innovation by implementing strategic AI initiatives alongside leadership and legal professionals.
Responsibilities
- Lead the AI Transformation Team, including experts in AI and Legal Engineering.
- Drive organization-wide AI integration through effective communication, engagement, and change management.
- Collaborate with legal, knowledge, risk, technology, and business services departments to execute AI priorities.
- Develop andDeploy AI solutions aimed at enhancing legal service efficiency and client satisfaction.
- Oversee innovation projects through the AI Labs program.
- Track AI adoption, assess benefits and risks, and gather user feedback to refine initiatives.
- Support governance and ensure responsible, risk-aware AI practices throughout the firm.
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven leadership in technology adoption, change management, or digital transformation efforts.
- In-depth knowledge of generative AI and emerging technologies relevant to legal practice.
- Track record of identifying and realizing AI use cases that deliver tangible business benefits.
- Ability to redesign and optimize workflows for AI integration.
- Experience managing multidisciplinary or specialized teams.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and influence capabilities.
- Background in legal or professional services is advantageous; former legal practitioners passionate about innovation are encouraged to apply.
