AI Engineer

Role Overview

Join a global investment firm as an AI Engineer in their Abu Dhabi Development & Engineering team, driving the application of AI to support investment, quantitative analysis, and trading operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement collaborative autonomous multi-agent systems, preferably utilizing LangGraph, to coordinate complex investment workflows.
• Develop multi-step retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines integrating both structured and unstructured organizational data.
• Enhance core applications used by front-office investment teams.
• Collaborate closely with quants and traders to support a quantitative trading and risk optimization platform.
• Create prototypes and integrate cutting-edge large language model (LLM) research innovations from providers such as OpenAI, Microsoft, and Anthropic.
• Design conversational memory and long-term contextual solutions utilizing semantic retrieval and extended-context models.
• Manage projects end-to-end from gathering stakeholder requirements through deployment within a regulated enterprise environment.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• At least five years in enterprise-level development roles, including a minimum of two years specifically working on applied AI and large language model projects.
• Proficient Python programming skills with demonstrated experience deploying LLMs like GPT-4 and Claude in production systems.
• Hands-on experience with LangChain, LangGraph, or similar frameworks orchestrating generative and agent-based workflows.
• Experience building retrieval-augmented generation pipelines and working knowledge of vector and semantic search technology.
• Familiarity with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes, containerization using Docker, and orchestration via Kubernetes in highly regulated settings.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related fields, or equivalent professional experience.
• Specialized knowledge in generative AI applications for financial services, including trading, compliance, or customer support; experience in fixed income, FX, or credit exposure areas is advantageous.
• Experience fine-tuning or adapting LLMs using advanced techniques like Low-Rank Adaptation (LoRA) and Parameter-Efficient Fine-Tuning (PEFT).
• Familiarity with agent frameworks such as OpenAI's Agents SDK.

Additional Information

This position is full-time and onsite in Abu Dhabi. Remote work is not available. Candidates residing outside the region will be supported with comprehensive relocation packages.
