About Rabobank and the Role

Rabobank, awarded the 2025 Roy Morgan New Zealand Customer Satisfaction Award as 'Bank of the Year,' is the global leader in food and agribusiness banking. Our strength lies in our dedicated kaimahi (employees), who possess deep agricultural knowledge and aim to create sustained value for clients. Our mission is 'growing a better New Zealand together,' reflected in our commitment to both employees and clients.

We are seeking a seasoned, relationship-oriented Agribusiness Manager to join our Country Banking team in Rotorua, Bay of Plenty. This role leverages your business development expertise and network to manage and expand a portfolio of rural and agribusiness clients.

Role Responsibilities

In this position, you will work alongside some of New Zealand's prominent farmers and agribusinesses, guiding them to reach their goals with customized financial products and trusted advice. Combining your agricultural passion, commercial acumen, and client management skills, you will nurture a high-performing portfolio and deliver significant client outcomes.

With the support of specialists from Credit, Operations, RaboResearch, and Product teams, your focus will be on crafting personalized solutions, deepening client relationships, and promoting long-term achievements for clients and Rabobank. Daily tasks include collaborating with deal teams, determining capital structures, ensuring high-quality credit applications, and demonstrating leadership and mentoring abilities.

Candidate Profile

  • Comprehensive understanding of the rural sector and specialized financial products
  • Excellent interpersonal, relationship-building, and communication capabilities
  • High personal integrity and a strong dedication to customer service
  • Preferably a tertiary qualification in finance, economics, accounting, or agriculture
  • Strong teamwork and collaborative skills

Employee Benefits

  • Eligibility for the annual variable remuneration incentive scheme
  • Wellbeing initiatives such as free flu vaccinations, 2 days of wellbeing leave, wellbeing webinars, and an Employee Assistance Programme
  • Annual leave with eligibility for an additional week of bonus leave and the option to purchase up to two extra weeks yearly
  • Professional training and development opportunities
  • Paid parental leave of up to 26 weeks for new parents, with employer KiwiSaver contributions continuing for 52 weeks
  • Active social club with a variety of events throughout the year
  • Paid Community Leave Day to support volunteer work in local communities
