Job description
Overview
This role is integral to the Compliance team at Ria Money Transfer, focusing primarily on risk management and anti-money laundering (AML) activities. As part of the Agent Oversight (AOS) team, the individual administers the entire Compliance Agent Oversight Program, which includes ensuring audit quality, training auditors, and supporting agents in maintaining compliance with company policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain high standards in audit quality across Australia.
- Organize and participate in agent audit and training initiatives.
- Ensure agents adhere to the company’s compliance policies and internal procedures.
- Deliver oversight and compliance training specifically tailored for the agent network.
- Provide training support to local Compliance teams.
- Travel regularly within Australia (typically one, up to two weeks per month) to support operations.
Additional Duties
The Compliance Specialist will support money remittance operations and agents in meeting AML and regulatory obligations by working closely with agents to ensure compliance policies are effective and practical. Collaboration with internal departments is essential to achieve Compliance objectives.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree preferably in Law, Economics, or Business Administration.
- Certification or coursework in compliance-related fields (e.g., CAMS, ICA) is advantageous.
- Experience in AML/CTF or compliance risk management is highly valued.
- Strong analytical, operational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Self-motivated with enthusiasm and capacity to complete assigned tasks independently.
- Familiarity with money laundering compliance requirements within money service businesses is a significant plus.
