Role Overview
The AGE Electrical Supervisor, reporting directly to the Mechanical Workshop Controller, is a seasoned supervisor skilled in conducting intricate maintenance tasks within the Air Ground Equipment (AGE) bay. This role demands proficiency in diagnostic electronic techniques and a responsibility to uphold airworthiness by correctly delegating and authorizing electrical and electronic AGE work. Awareness of wider operational dependencies and continuous improvement is essential.
Core Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed maintenance, inspections, and lead supervision of electrical components in the AGE area, ensuring all work complies with technical packages and approved standards, and resolve faults with attention to configuration management.
- Perform assigned maintenance and diagnostic duties on electrical AGE components, including removals, inspections, repairs, modifications, fault rectifications, replacements, and functional/system testing, demonstrating flexibility and a proactive approach.
- Maintain authorizations for self and team members to work on aircraft AGE in line with regulatory standards and ensure competence approvals for maintenance tasks.
- Provide electrical support within the AGE facility to maintain compliance with the Maintenance Organisation Exposition (MOE) and regulatory protocols, including oversight and control of tooling and test equipment.
- Evaluate faults, generate work cards for unexpected issues found during maintenance, and supervise personnel to meet short and medium-term delivery targets with progress reporting to management.
- Maintain a personal Log Book recording job training and authorize or verify team members' logbooks within trade boundaries. If qualified as a designated assessor, conduct approvals and review Part 145 license applications before submission.
- Offer leadership and guidance to team members by facilitating development through performance assessments and supporting training requests, utilizing effective communication and people management skills.
- Oversee all maintenance activities concerning electrical Aircraft Ground Equipment, ensuring timely supervision and adherence to technical instructions.
Key Accountabilities
- Manage regulatory activities by setting targets, monitoring achievement, and implementing performance enhancement programs; prioritize tasks for maximum efficiency and resolve escalated airworthiness issues or escalate them to management as necessary.
- Adhere to all regulatory frameworks, procedures, standards, and company policies, identifying and recommending procedural improvements where appropriate.
- Champion the Safety Management System by promoting human factors, error and risk management, safety assurance, and hazard mitigation within the Part 145 team.
- Ensure all Part 145 maintenance records and activities are thoroughly documented and conducted by qualified, experienced, and authorized personnel, providing guidance to the team.
- Support governance and assurance compliance through maintenance oversight, audit support, timely resolution of findings, and implementation of corrective improvements.
- Demonstrate comprehensive understanding and practical application of continuing airworthiness regulatory frameworks, including compliance with ITAR, EaPW, and ISO standards.
- Fulfill all contractual requirements diligently.
Qualifications and Experience
- Completion of an Engineering Apprenticeship in Aeronautical Engineering or a military equivalent; minimum academic qualification is City & Guilds 2675 or 2661 or equivalent in Aeronautical Engineering and Maintenance.
- At least 2 years of recent supervisory experience prior to this role, evidencing capable and competent leadership.
- A broad range of relevant experience demonstrating currency and recency in requisite skills, knowledge, and authorities.
- Practical expertise in aviation safety standards and best practices for safe operations.
- Sound knowledge of Expositions, Mandated Procedures, and Management training requirements.
- Foundation level Leadership training.
- Completion of Human Factors standard course.
- Awareness training in E&PW (Export Control).
- ITAR standard course awareness.
- Proficiency in IT systems.
- Basic Fire Training awareness.
- Competence in On the Job Training instructional techniques.
- Possession of a valid driving license.
