Ballynahinch Castle Hotel, part of the prestigious Relais & Chateaux group, offers a distinctive luxury guest experience set in a stunning 700-acre estate located in Connemara, Ireland. The property is dedicated to providing guests with memorable outdoor and hospitality experiences.
Role Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic and guest-oriented Activities Assistant to join our team. This role is ideal for an organized, proactive individual who enjoys interacting with guests and thrives in a dynamic environment. The Activities Assistant will support the Activities Manager in organizing and delivering a range of onsite and offsite activities ensuring each event runs efficiently and guests receive exceptional service throughout their stay.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Activities Manager with managing and coordinating all guest activities both onsite and offsite.
- Support the planning of activities with weekly, daily, and monthly schedules.
- Collaborate closely with Reservations, Reception, and Front of House teams to align activity bookings with guest reservations.
- Serve as a key contact for fishing club members, managing their bookings, inquiries, and ongoing communications.
- Maintain a friendly and visible presence in front-of-house areas, assisting guests with activity questions and suggestions.
- Ensure all equipment for activities is well maintained, organized, and in proper working condition.
- Oversee fishing club memberships and timely collection of fees.
- Verify accurate billing of guests for all tailored activities and associated services.
- Manage the activities and concierge communications inbox, responding to guest inquiries within two days.
- Participate actively in guest activities such as guided walks, fishing lessons, art tours, hikes, and picnics; comprehensive training will be provided.
- Provide support to other hotel departments during slower seasons, including assisting Reception and Portering with guest luggage and maintaining high front-of-house standards.
- Consistently promote a professional, courteous, and helpful attitude toward guests and coworkers.
Candidate Profile
- Previous employment or experience in hospitality, customer service, concierge, or tourism roles.
- Strong organizational and time management capabilities.
- Excellent communication skills and interpersonal effectiveness.
- A passionate commitment to delivering outstanding guest experiences.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving aptitude.
- Interest or experience in outdoor activities such as fishing, hiking or estate-related guest offerings is a plus.
- Flexibility and adaptability to varying work demands.
- Maintain a consistently professional, positive, and welcoming approach.
