Job description
Project and Construction Accounting
- Develop and submit monthly progress billings utilizing AIA documents (G702/G703) or customized Schedule of Values based on client contracts.
- Manage accurate monitoring and collection of retainage withheld from contracts.
- Maintain work-in-progress reports to assess project profitability, cost-to-complete, and billing variances.
- Coordinate with Project Managers to properly incorporate authorized change orders into billing and budgets.
Cost Management and Procurement Tracking
- Review and allocate vendor invoices related to electrical materials and subcontractor expenses to specific job codes.
- Collect and verify lien waivers (conditional and unconditional) from subcontractors and suppliers to reduce company risks.
- Reconcile inventory of tools and materials assigned to various job sites with the general ledger.
General Financial Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate periodic financial statements (monthly, quarterly, annual) for both contracting and consultancy segments.
- Monitor and forecast cash flows to manage timing of receipts against significant project expenditures such as materials and payroll.
- Oversee certified payroll reporting to ensure compliance with prevailing wage and government-funded electrical projects.
- Manage compliance with sales and use tax regulations, especially related to material exemptions and projects spanning multiple jurisdictions.
