Accounting Office Associate

Position Summary

This role requires managing all store funds by performing accurate cash handling and maintaining detailed financial records to uphold financial security and integrity.

Key Responsibilities

• Verify the amount of currency in the accounting office at opening, after final deposits, and prior to closing the office daily; perform weekly calibration of the teller mate machine as needed.
• Oversee all cash management points including cash registers, ATMs, self-checkouts, and vending machines within the store.
• Control the flow of cash by processing register bags, preparing deposits for armored car pickup, and reconciling daily business transactions.
• Handle the identification, preparation, and organization of financial reports and logs while distributing relevant data to appropriate personnel; investigate and dispute chargebacks and reconcile journal accounts.
• Report any cash shortages to the District Loss Prevention Manager (DLPM) and store management following company guidelines.
• Monitor for signs of shrinkage and potential security threats, promptly notifying management and Loss Prevention teams.
• Ensure the safe is locked when unattended, engage the day lock in the cash office, and maintain a safe and secure environment compliant with company policies at all times.

Compensation

The starting hourly wage for this position is $16.50.

Minimum Qualifications

• Applicants must be aged 16 or older.
