About the Role
This role involves supporting the day-to-day processes related to the general ledger including assisting clients in understanding and working with these financial operations. The position entails performing accounting tasks such as account balancing, ledger reconciliation, compiling reports, and resolving discrepancies.
Candidate Profile
Applicants should have completed a four-year bachelor’s degree specializing in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. No prior professional experience is mandatory.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and carry out assigned accounting projects and tasks.
- Implement and monitor audits of Accounting Standard Operating Procedures across all property areas.
- Adhere to all relevant legislation concerning fraud prevention and collection protocols.
- Produce precise and timely reports and presentations for various stakeholders.
- Analyze data to select optimal solutions and resolve issues effectively.
- Compile, code, categorize, calculate, tabulate, audit, and verify financial information or data.
- Handle reconciliation of credit card ledgers.
- Review contracts for group bookings and conduct credit checks on direct billed groups when necessary.
- Achieve and exceed goals related to performance, budgeting, and team objectives.
- Set priorities and plans to organize and complete workload efficiently.
- Submit reports punctually, meeting all deadlines.
- Ensure accurate documentation of profits and losses.
- Monitor applicable taxes to ensure they are correctly collected, accrued, and up to date.
- Maintain robust accounting and operational controls to protect assets.
- Complete all period-end accounting processes timely.
- Provide guidance to other departments on accounting and budgeting policies to ensure proper financial resource management and control.
- Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of relevant issues, systems, and accounting procedures, including Gross Revenue Reports, return check processing, write-offs, and consolidated deposits.
- Keep technical knowledge current and apply new learnings in daily tasks.
- Use computer systems effectively for programming, data entry, and information processing.
- Exercise sound judgment to ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
- Lead, influence, and motivate accounting teams while fostering a culture of integrity and sound financial decisions.
- Manage team productivity, delegate tasks, and enforce deadlines while maintaining an open-door policy and visibility.
- Work effectively in culturally diverse environments and oversee quality in customer service and staff satisfaction.
- Recruit, train, and evaluate staff productivity, recommend promotions or status changes, and manage disciplinary actions as needed.
- Ensure safety and security of employees and property.
- Track employee attendance and manage performance appraisals in accordance with procedures.
- Communicate clearly with supervisors, peers, and subordinates through various channels.
- Demonstrate personal integrity and effective listening, confidence, enthusiasm, and conflict management skills.
- Keep all relevant parties informed timely and manage time and organizational skills efficiently.
- Apply problem-solving techniques for decision-making and follow-up actions.
- Perform collection calls when required.
