Role Overview
We are expanding our finance team and seek a part-qualified accountant with a proactive, hands-on mindset. This role demands ownership of comprehensive financial processes, independent problem-solving, and providing cross-departmental financial and commercial support.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily bookkeeping and meticulous recording of all financial transactions, including sales, purchases, expenses, payments, and receipts, using QuickBooks efficiently and on schedule.
- Collaborate with the Administrative and Operations teams to manage payment schedules, verify supporting documents, and ensure purchase approvals adhere to company protocols.
- Oversee the sales transaction cycle, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Handle accounting processes such as posting accruals, prepayments, depreciation of fixed assets, and managing intercompany transactions.
- Drive the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring thorough balance sheet reconciliations and accurate profit and loss reporting.
- Prepare monthly management accounts promptly.
- Develop detailed monthly management reporting packages including analysis of variances, profit margins, and critical operational KPIs.
- Ensure compliance with relevant Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and regulatory standards.
- Conduct thorough financial analyses to detect trends, discrepancies, and potential enhancements.
- Monitor costing activities to guarantee precise margin reporting.
- Implement and uphold strong internal controls to protect company assets and confirm financial report accuracy.
- Assist with external audit processes by preparing required documentation and addressing auditors’ inquiries.
Essential Qualifications and Skills
- Experience working within a finance function.
- Proven expertise in month-end close processes and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Familiarity with audit procedures and responding to auditor requests.
- Solid knowledge of accruals, prepayments, fixed assets, and intercompany accounting.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial data analysis.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational capabilities.
- Ability to work autonomously in a remote setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Motivation to grow professionally in a dynamic and expanding organization.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with UK GAAP and/or US GAAP accounting standards.
- Practical hands-on use of QuickBooks Online accounting software.
