About the Role

ExpressVPN is seeking a skilled and experienced finance professional to enhance our Finance team as an Accountant. Reporting directly to the Senior Finance Manager, you will work closely with team members to guarantee thorough and precise accounting of financial transactions in line with applicable accounting standards. Your key responsibilities will include monthly and yearly financial reporting and closing, managing statutory compliance for entities, overseeing financial audits, and handling corporate taxation duties.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Ensure accurate and comprehensive recording of expenses, revenues, and balance sheet accounts.
  • Collaborate with the Finance Operations team for precise vendor invoice recording and proper accounting classification.
  • Coordinate with the Payables team and other parties to accrue all incurred but uninvoiced expenses in the relevant periods.
  • Record intercompany transactions adhering to the Group's transfer pricing policies.
  • Lead month-end closing activities and maintain full bookkeeping for entities, including preparing and posting journal entries related to business transactions such as monthly tax computations aligned with local tax laws and intercompany recharges.
  • Review or create profit & loss and balance sheet schedules and reconciliations like intercompany reconciliations, accrual and prepayment listings, along with other ad hoc or recurring analyses.
  • Generate monthly financial analysis and reporting packages conforming to group reporting standards.
  • Manage VAT/GST submissions, local audits, finalization of local financial statements, corporate tax filings, and related statutory reporting responsibilities.
  • Suggest and assist with process improvements, finance system implementations, and ensure uniform application of accounting policies in line with Group standards.
  • Support audit and tax compliance tasks by coordinating with external auditors or tax consultants when needed.
  • Contribute to various ad hoc projects and tasks as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Diploma or degree in Finance or Accounting from a recognized educational institution.
  • Professional certifications such as CA, CPA, ACCA, or equivalent are advantageous.
  • Between two to three years or more of practical experience managing a broad range of financial accounting functions.
  • Solid understanding of fundamental accounting principles including double-entry bookkeeping.
  • Basic knowledge of corporate income tax and value-added tax.
  • Fluent proficiency in both written and spoken English.
  • Competence with MS Office or equivalent applications for data analysis and preparing presentations.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with others and establish strong cross-functional relationships.
  • Adaptability, independence, and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Eagerness to continually learn and improve.

Preferred Experience

  • Familiarity with Oracle Netsuite Accounting System is a plus.
