Role Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Accountant to join our Financial Accounting & Controlling team. This position balances rigorous adherence to German statutory accounting standards with the flexibility required in a leading digital tech company environment. The role reports to the local Head of Accounting/Controlling and supports both local and central finance operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closes according to IFRS and German GAAP standards.
• Generate financial statements compliant with local German GAAP (HGB).
• Prepare and reconcile balance sheets and VAT returns, assisting in tax return preparations.
• Support external audits, tax authorities, and maintain communication with auditors and officials.
• Serve as a trusted finance advisor to local and central teams including Business, FP&A, Legal, and HR.
• Promote digital transformation and continuous enhancement of accounting processes, facilitating new system implementations within a fast-paced tech setting.

Candidate Profile

• Expertise in HGB (German GAAP) and strong knowledge of IFRS are mandatory.
• At least 5 years of professional accounting experience, preferably in dynamic, data-driven sectors such as e-commerce, digital technology, or consulting.
• A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Accounting and Controlling, or equivalent vocational qualifications with advanced certifications (e.g., Certified Accountant IHK).
• Hands-on experience in financial operations, closing, and compliance responsibilities.
• Strong analytical capabilities with the talent to distill complex accounting concepts into understandable insights.
• Skilled collaborator capable of influencing stakeholders across multiple organizational levels.
• Proficient with modern ERP systems like SAP, OneStream, Navision, and finance-related platforms such as Salesforce; swift adaptability to new technologies is advantageous.
• Fluent in German (required) with strong English communication skills.
