Role Purpose
This role focuses on comprehensive analysis and consolidation of service, performance, and costing data to meet customer needs effectively. It aims to deliver insights for identifying opportunities to optimize customer and Vector profitability through joint efficiencies.
Responsibilities
- Engage with customer departments to resolve daily operational queries and maintain operational relationships.
- Facilitate communication between customers and internal Vector departments like Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, and Commercial.
- Oversee service level reporting by analyzing issues and proposing solutions to maintain performance standards.
- Manage overstocking reports, monitor sales and rate trends by category and customer type, and track sales performance by customer.
- Coordinate product category changes liaising with relevant departments and ensure formal approvals.
- Collaborate with VSS and Supply Chain regularly to share information and align expectations.
- Analyze SKU performance and trends, monitor new product availability to prevent stock-outs, and manage risky expiry stocks with Planning.
- Address slow-moving SKUs in coordination with Planning and Principals; manage customer and channel product additions and discontinuations.
- Maintain business review calendars, updating reports and analyzing service levels for meetings with demand forecasters.
- Conduct competitive market research regularly and contribute tactical insights on Principal/Vector projects.
- Identify efficiency improvements and collaborate on projects to enhance profitability for both customer and Vector.
- Communicate customer requests to Vector stakeholders and support Commercial department with viability analyses.
- Prepare monthly review packs and ad hoc reports, providing thorough data insights and monitoring SLA compliance.
- Lead and oversee key project deliverables, demonstrating strong collaboration, communication, and multitasking skills in a dynamic environment.
- Take ownership of tasks, plan and prioritize effectively, ensure quality standards, and communicate proactively about risks or delays.
- Uphold business core values, manage expectations effectively, support team goals by going the extra mile, and foster training and development for self and others.
- Engage in performance appraisals, set clear targets, and maintain awareness of employee relations to ensure compliance with policies and legislation.
Qualifications and Experience
- Completed Matric certificate.
- Undergraduate degree in B.Com Logistics or related discipline.
- 2 to 3 years' experience in supply chain, customer service, and commercial roles.
- Valid Code EB driver's license.
- Experience in customer relations and sales/logistics processes emphasizing 3PL concepts.
- Familiarity with Vector's business partners, procedures, and personnel.
- Understanding of multiple KPIs, their interrelationships, and impact on profit margins.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in computer applications including SAP MM, SAP BW, MS Office with advanced Excel skills.
- Ability to handle pressure and demonstrate interpersonal tolerance.
- Proactive and solution-focused mindset.
- Detail-oriented and deadline-driven.
- Ability to interact professionally across all organizational levels.
