Werk is a vibrant, full-service agency with about twelve team members spread across Auckland and Wellington, operating for seven years. Their projects range widely, from selling concert tickets and launching cars to organizing school open days and promoting new coffee brands. They focus on big ideas, precise briefs, and building client loyalty.

Role Overview

As an Account Manager, you will be the trusted primary contact for a portfolio of digital and media-focused accounts, managing relationships, strategic planning, briefing, and delivering excellent work. This role offers genuine ownership and strategic involvement, far beyond coordination tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the main liaison for your client accounts, understanding their business intimately to provide proactive, valuable insights.
  • Identify core challenges and develop comprehensive multi-channel plans to address them.
  • Create clear, well-costed briefs that motivate the Media, Marketing, and Creative teams.
  • Manage workflows across departments, ensuring consistent progress.
  • Maintain financial discipline by securing quotes, purchase orders, and logging all changes appropriately.
  • Interpret performance data to craft actionable client narratives.
  • Lead work-in-progress meetings that engage all participants effectively.

Desired Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience managing digital and media-focused agency accounts.
  • Ability to analyze media plans critically and ensure alignment with briefs.
  • Familiarity with media platforms sufficient to confidently contribute in discussions.
  • Comfort and competence in handling and translating performance data.
  • Strong brief-writing skills with the ability to develop impactful creative directives.
  • Capability to discuss project scope and budgets transparently and confidently.
  • Highly organized with visible and accountable workflows.
  • Low ego with straightforward communication; inclined to address issues proactively.
