Job description
About Werk Agency
Werk is a comprehensive marketing agency with around twelve team members located across Auckland and Wellington, operating for seven years. We integrate strategy, paid media, creative, web development, and data expertise to ensure seamless communication without losing momentum during handovers.
Each week we handle diverse projects, from selling concert tickets and launching vehicles to organizing school open days or promoting national coffee culture. We offer flexible hybrid working with two days remote work weekly and enjoy Friday morning teas together.
Role Overview
As the Digital Performance Manager, you'll be responsible for overseeing performance across all agency accounts. Your main question will be: Is this working, and how can it be improved? This is a hands-on position where you directly make optimization and scaling decisions.
Campaign building and quality assurance are managed by other team members so that you can focus entirely on optimization as your primary responsibility. You will report directly to the Marketing Director.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough optimizations on paid search and paid social campaigns and decide on strategies for scaling.
- Monitor results and conversion metrics across the agency's entire client portfolio.
- Ensure tracking setups are precise and reliable, including tags, conversions, and attribution models.
- Develop and manage a campaign build standard that the entire team adheres to in your playbook.
- Create and maintain a comprehensive, unified performance dashboard.
- Support Account Managers and participate in critical client discussions, especially after months with underwhelming outcomes.
- Maintain strong relationships with platform representatives, including beta program coordinators and support teams.
- Provide mentorship to junior analysts within the agency.
Candidate Profile
- Extensive experience in paid search and paid social, with the ability to audit accounts and recommend precise changes with rationale.
- Proficient in Google Analytics 4 (GA4), Google Tag Manager (GTM), and conversion tracking setup; capable of identifying inaccurate metrics quickly.
- Preference for well-documented procedures and a passion for continually enhancing them.
- Proactive problem identification instead of passive acceptance.
- Skilled at interpreting and conveying data insights to people unfamiliar with advertising platforms.
- Background in agency or in-house environments is acceptable; what matters is depth of knowledge and sound judgment.
Benefits and Working Conditions
- Autonomous control over the performance of the full client portfolio.
- Exposure to clients across entertainment, automotive, education, food & beverage, and government sectors.
- Flexible hybrid work arrangement with two remote days per week in Auckland or Wellington.
- A culture that values humility, professionalism, and camaraderie, exemplified by regular social gatherings like Friday morning tea.
Additional Information
This is a permanent full-time position suitable for mid to senior-level professionals. Instead of a written test, candidates will complete a practical campaign setup exercise as part of the hiring process.
