Role Overview

We are seeking a full-time Academic Tutor based in Singapore with a hybrid work arrangement combining in-person sessions and remote work. The tutor will conduct private classes primarily in mathematics and associated subjects, aligned with predetermined curricula and learning objectives. Responsibilities include lesson planning and delivery, assigning and evaluating practice tasks, monitoring student progress, and adapting teaching methods to individual needs. Maintaining clear communication with learners and their families regarding performance and providing advice on study techniques and preparation for assessments and admissions milestones are essential to this role.

The tutor will also maintain detailed session logs, collaborate with the wider Scion Development team, and consistently uphold confidentiality and professionalism.

Qualifications

• Proven tutoring and teaching skills with experience in private and individualized academic support.
• Strong academic foundation relevant to education and taught subjects; capable of simplifying complex ideas for learners.
• Excellent communication abilities to engage students, deliver constructive feedback, and liaise effectively with families.
• Preferred bachelor's degree in Education, Sciences, Languages, Mathematics, or related fields; additional teaching or tutoring certifications are beneficial.
• Mandarin language skills are advantageous.
• Experience working with school-age students, particularly in competitive or rigorous academic settings.
• Well-developed organizational and time management skills for lesson planning, progress tracking, and managing multiple student schedules.
• Comfortable with hybrid work, including facilitating online sessions using digital platforms, while maintaining professional standards.
• Strong commitment to learner-centered approaches, discretion, and professionalism, especially when working with high net-worth clients.
