Job Overview
The A/C Technician is tasked with the installation, servicing, and repair of temperature and air quality control systems at the Al Najada Doha Hotel By Tivoli in Doha, Qatar.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform repairs, maintenance, and technical servicing on all electrical and mechanical refrigeration systems such as freezers, refrigerators, ice makers, fan coil units, and chillers.
- Conduct preventive maintenance on air-conditioning and refrigeration systems throughout the hotel.
- Assess the performance of refrigeration system components and ensure their optimal operation.
- Inspect and verify the condition of door closing mechanisms on walk-in coolers and freezers including door gaskets and latches.
- Maintain and troubleshoot defrosting systems and ice maker automation.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests originating from various hotel departments.
- Ensure regular cleaning of fan coil units and air-handling unit filters.
- Monitor the functioning and effectiveness of air-conditioning and chilled water systems.
- Collaborate with engineering colleagues to detect faults in air-conditioning and refrigeration equipment and ensure proper configuration.
- Enforce strict controls to prevent the venting of chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) into the atmosphere.
- Perform overhaul and major repairs on air-conditioning and refrigeration equipment and systems.
- Monitor refrigeration oil levels and manage major repair schedules.
- Coordinate with the Engineering Storekeeper regarding the procurement of necessary parts.
- Ensure all work complies with local technical regulations and safety standards.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Completion of appropriate training from a recognized technical or vocational institute is required.
- At least one year of experience working in a hotel engineering department.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics.
- Experience with VRF/VRV systems is advantageous.
